Frequently Ask Questions

It is a double-flanged butterfly valve incorporating two shaft/disc offsets to reduce seat friction and operating torque while providing reliable shut-off.
In a concentric butterfly valve, the shaft and disc are centered in the sealing arrangement. A double-offset valve uses eccentric geometry, allowing the disc to disengage from the seat earlier during opening and reducing rubbing and wear.
Alis Valves manufactures and supplies Double Flanged Double Offset Butterfly Valves for water treatment, wastewater, oil & gas, chemical, power, HVAC, petrochemical and other industrial applications.
The first offset moves the shaft away from the centerline of the valve body, while the second offset moves the shaft relative to the sealing axis. This allows the disc to move away from the seat quickly during opening.
Soft-seated double-offset designs can be configured for bi-directional tight shut-off. Metal-seated versions may have a defined preferred flow direction depending on their seat design.
