It is a triple-eccentric butterfly valve with metal-to-metal seating, specifically designed for high-temperature, high-pressure and demanding industrial services.
The major advantage is non-rubbing operation. The disc does not continuously rub against the seat, which significantly reduces friction and seat wear.
The design uses two shaft/disc eccentricities plus a third offset in the conical sealing geometry. This creates a cam-like movement that allows the disc to disengage from the seat during opening.
